Deepak Chahar on MS Dhoni: Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni is preparing fiercely for IPL 2023. The league will start from 31 March. The first match of IPL 2023 will be played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. There is talk that this could be the last IPL for CSK captain MS Dhoni. But the team’s fast bowler Deepak Chahar says that MS Dhoni can play even further. According to him, ‘there is no guarantee that the Indian Premier League will see Dhoni for the last time in 2023’. In the year 2022, when Dhoni was asked if he would come to play in the 2023 tournament, he had said that he would definitely play.

Talking to News India Sports, Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Deepak Chahar said, no one has said that this will be Dhoni’s last year. Hope he plays more. We do not know any such thing. We want him to play as much as he can.
Lucky to play under Dhoni’s captaincy
Deepak Chahar is a part of Chennai Super Kings since the year 2018. He says that there is no need to tell Dhoni when he has to retire. According to Deepak, ‘Dhoni knows when he has to retire. We have seen when he has done it in Test and international cricket. No one else knows. I hope he continues to play. It is a privilege to play under his leadership. Playing with him has been a dream. He is in good shape. You will see that when he bats in IPL this year.
With CSK since 2008
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been with Chennai Super Kings since the first edition of IPL played in the year 2008. In the year 2016, when CSK was banned for 2 years, Dhoni played for Rising Pune Super Giants. On the other hand, if the 6 matches of the beginning of IPL 2022 are left out, then only Dhoni has been the captain of CSK. Last season, Chennai Super Kings made Ravindra Jadeja the captain of the team. But Jadeja resigned after captaining in 6 matches.
