7th Pay Commission Update: A big update has come regarding the House Rent Allowance received by central employees. A guideline has been issued by the Department of Expenditure (DoE) of the Ministry of Finance. Under this, now some employees will not be given the benefit of House Rent Allowance (HRA). 7th Pay Commission News: Now these government employees will not get HRA

According to the guidelines issued by the Department of Expenditure, if a central employee shares the allotted accommodation with someone else, then he will not be considered entitled to House Rent Allowance. Along with this, if a central employee lives in the house allotted to parents, son, daughter, then he will not be given the benefit of house rent allowance.

These people will also not be given House Rent Allowance.

If a government employee is living in the same Government Quarters allotted by the government, living in the same government house or living separately or living on rent, then they are entitled to House Rent Allowance. The benefit of will not be given.

How much HRA is given

House Rent Allowance (HRA) is issued to central employees in different categories. They are divided into X, Y and Z categories. Under the 7th Pay Commission, House Rent Allowance is issued at the rate of 24 per cent to X category employees. House rent allowance is issued at the rate of 16 per cent to Y category employees and 8 per cent to Z category employees.

In the X category, there are employees living in an area with a population of more than 50 lakhs. On the other hand, in the Y category, there are employees of areas with a population between 5 lakh to 50 lakh, while in the Z category, there are employees living in areas with a population of less than 5 lakh.
