It has been claimed in the report that for those who have more than 3 kW of electricity, the facility of free electricity may end and they may have to pay the electricity bill. A report in the Hindustan newspaper states that the Energy Department is preparing a proposal for this.

Proposal will be sent to cabinet

The Energy Department will prepare this proposal and send it to the cabinet of Delhi Government. In such a situation, if the approval is given by the cabinet, then the facility of free electricity will be removed for these people. According to a senior Delhi government official, the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has proposed consumption-based electricity subsidy. The proposal of the commission is to limit the facility of subsidy to 3 KW power consumption.

It has been said in the official statement that only 10 to 15 percent people will be affected by the implementation of this system. At the same time, the benefit of subsidy will continue to be given to the people on a large scale. At present, this free electricity facility is being provided on the basis of demand, which has been implemented from 1 October 2022.
