Airtel To Hike Mobile Tariff In Middle Of 2023 Says Sunil Bharti Mittal

Airtel Mobile Tariff Hike: Mobile tariffs may become costlier in the coming days. Bharti Airtel, the country’s second largest telecom company, may announce a tariff hike in the middle of this year. Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman of Bharti Enterprises, has indicated to increase the mobile tariff.

Talking to reporters at the World Mobile Congress, Sunil Bharti Mittal said that in the condition of Vodafone Idea, the country cannot afford to face another Vodafone Idea. He said that the government and regulators are fully aware of this situation. Common people are also understanding it completely. In such a situation, we need such strong telecom companies that can invest in new technology, can provide excellent coverage in rural areas. Sunil Bharti Mittal said that the mobile tariff can be increased in the middle of this year.

Earlier, Bharti Airtel has increased mobile tariffs in many circles. The company had increased the minimum monthly prepaid recharge plan in many of its plans. The company has increased the minimum recharge plan from Rs 99 to Rs 155. Airtel had said on increasing the tariff that in view of the focus on giving better experience to the customer, it has decided to discontinue the metered tariff and the company has come up with a new entry level plan of Rs 155, in which the customer will get 1 GB data with unlimited calling and 300 prepaid recharge. SMS facility will be available. Customers will be able to use this plan without any restrictions.

However, the telecom company has only changed the entry level prepaid mobile tariff. Earlier in November 2021, the prepaid mobile tariff was increased. Post paid mobile tariff has not been changed for a long time. Telecom companies are continuously rolling out 5G services across the country. Companies have invested heavily on this technology. Due to which companies can take a decision to increase the tariff in the middle of this year.
