8th Pay Commission: Central employees have demanded the formation of the 8th Pay Commission from the government. Railway employees' federation AIRF has demanded the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. Federation General Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra said that a letter has also been written on behalf of the Federation to the Cabinet Secretary demanding the formation of the 8th Pay Commission to increase the salaries of government employees.
After the meeting of All India Railwaymen's Federation, Shiv Gopal Mishra said that a unanimous resolution has been passed in the meeting that the government should immediately constitute the 8th Pay Commission. He said that the Federation has also written a letter to the Cabinet Secretary regarding its demand. Shiv Gopal Mishra said that after the formation of the new government, we want the 8th Pay Commission to be constituted immediately, keeping in mind the interests of the government employees.
Earlier in the month of March, the Department of Personnel & Training had sent a letter to the Department of Expenditure under the Finance Ministry regarding the demand for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission of the Indian Railway Technical Supervisors Association. Has been forwarded to and asked to consider it. Although the Modi government has said many times in the Parliament that there is no proposal before the government to constitute the 8th Pay Commission regarding increase in the salaries of central employees.
Let us tell you that after every 10 years, a Pay Commission is formed to take decisions on the salaries of government employees and pensions of pensioners. In which decisions are taken on salaries and other types of allowances of central employees. The Pay Commission is given 18 months to submit its report and recommendations. Last time, the 7th Pay Commission was constituted under the chairmanship of Justice Ashok Kumar Mathur on 28 February 2014. The commission submitted its recommendations to the government in November 2015, which were implemented from January 1, 2016.
Salary, allowances, rank structure of officers and employees associated with Pay Commission, Central Employees, All India Services, Union Territories, Indian Audit and Accounts Department, Staff Officers associated with Regulatory Authorities, Official Employees of Supreme Court and Personnel associated with Defense Forces. And submits its recommendations regarding pension to the government. However, it is believed that after the formation of the new government at the Centre, the pressure from government employees to form the 8th Pay Commission may increase on the government.
