X Video Call Feature: Twitter, which is now known as X, will soon give you the option of video and voice calls. This was announced by Elon Musk himself. Actually, Musk wants to make this app ‘the everything’ app. In the coming time, you will also get the payment feature on X. Meanwhile, some information about the company’s video-voice call feature has been leaked. A post related to this feature has been shared with a Twitter handle named X News Daily. You will find all the options for the new video and voice call feature under ‘Messages Settings’.
3 important settings
The information about calling feature has been shared by a user named @swak_12. To turn on the video-voice call feature, you will find an option under ‘Messages Settings’. After turning it on, you will also be able to decide who can call you. You can choose any option from Contact List, Verified Users or People You Follow. If you want, you can also tick all the options. After applying these settings, only relevant people will be able to call you.
The new calling feature will be rolled out for Android, iOS, Mac and iPad.
NEWS: Here’s a preview of X’s upcoming voice and video call feature, based on code added to the Android build.
It appears video+voice calls will be opt in, and you will also be able to restrict calls to users in your address book, people you follow, or verified users. pic.twitter.com/Y3on1ZPx2f
Will calls be end-to-end encrypted?
The calling feature coming on X will not be end-to-end encrypted at present. Elon Musk had said some time ago that initially this feature will not be end-to-end encrypted but later the company will make it end-to-end encrypted so that the privacy of the users is maintained. This feature coming on X may be limited only to verified i.e. premium users.
Let us tell you that even before this, there are many such features which the company has released only for verified users and some have been snatched away from free users and given to verified users. One of these is the facility of text message based 2FA.
