WPL 2023: The first season of the Women’s Premier League has begun. The first match of the first season is being played between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants. This match is being played at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy Stadium in Navi Mumbai. In this match, Gujarat Giants captain Beth Mooney had decided to bowl first after winning the toss, but Mumbai and Indian team captain Harmanpreet did not allow her plans to be completed. Yastika Bhatia started the batting for Mumbai but she became the victim of Tanuja Kanwar after scoring only 1 run in 8 balls. However, Haley Mathews, who came out to open the batting with him, played an inning of 47 runs in 31 balls. From Mumbai, Pooja Vastrakar scored 15 in 8 balls and then Issy Wong also helped the team reach such a big score by hitting a six in just 1 ball.
On the other hand, Sneh Rana got the maximum 2 wickets from Gujarat and apart from him, Ashley Gardner, Tanuja Kanwar and Georgia Wareham also got one wicket each. Now it has to be seen how the Gujarat team chases such a big target in the second innings of the match.
