World Test Championship: The four-match Test series between India and Australia (IND vs AUS) is starting from 9 February. This is an important series in order to reach the final of the World Test Championship 2021-23 (WTC Final). Apart from this, two other Test series are also yet to be played under this championship. In this way, a total of 8 matches of these three series are to be played, which will decide the finalist of WTC. At present, four teams are involved in this race.
Australia, India, Sri Lanka and South Africa are expected to play any two teams in the WTC final. One of these teams will be India or Australia, it is also decided. Like last time, 9 teams were participating in WTC 2021-23. England, Pakistan and Bangladesh have played all their matches here. The remaining 6 teams are yet to play one series each. Where Bangladesh and Pakistan are completely out of the race to reach the WTC final. At the same time, New Zealand is also almost out of this race. There is little hope of England and West Indies reaching the finals.
Such are the equations in favor of these four teams
1. Australia: Australia is at the top of the WTC points table. Even if she loses 0-3 in the 4-match Test series against India, she will still reach the final. However, in the defeat of 0-4, he will have to depend on the matches of other teams. By the way, it is impossible for Australia to have a clean sweep, so it is impossible for them to play the WTC final.
2. India: If the Indian team wins this series 3-1, then it will also reach the final. If the performance of the Indian team is a little less than this, then it will have to depend on the results of the other two series to be held under the WTC. By the way, looking at the equations, the results of the other two series are expected to remain in favor of India.
3. Sri Lanka: If the Indian team does not win the Test series against Australia or Australia gets a clean sweep against India, then the Sri Lankan team will have a chance to reach the WTC final. She can reach the final by winning the two-match Test series against New Zealand.
4. South Africa: South Africa has to play a two-match Test series against the West Indies. If the Indian team does not win the Test series against Australia or Australia gets a clean sweep against India and Sri Lanka does not win the Test series against New Zealand, then the South African team can reach the WTC final by defeating the West Indies.
