Union Budget 2023 India On February 1, 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the last full budget of the Modi government. But on January 26, 2023 i.e. Thursday, the process of the last phase of preparing the budget document will begin with the Halwa Ceremony. In the presence of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Halwa Ceremony will be organized in the Ministry of Finance, North Block.
Halwa Ceremony on 26 January
The process of printing of budget documents to be presented on February 1, 2023 will begin on Thursday along with the traditional Halwa ceremony in the Ministry of Finance. After the Halwa Ceremony, more than 100 officers and employees of the Finance Ministry will remain in the printing house located in the basement of the Finance Ministry from January 26 till the presentation of the budget, in order to maintain the secrecy of the documents related to the budget. And they will not be allowed to come out till the budget is presented, even they will not be allowed to go to their homes. These people will not have any contact even with their family members. There will also be no provision of internet phone. The family members can contact their near and dear ones only by calling the officers of these employees. Food will be prepared for them in the canteen of the Finance Ministry. And there will be arrangements for their sleeping in the basement.

Budget will be paperless
Paperless budget was presented in the two budgets presented during the Corona period. The budget to be presented for 2023-24 will also be paperless. Budget documents can be viewed on the Union Budget Mobile App, which will be available on Android and Apple OS platforms after the budget is presented by the Finance Minister.
Budget document is very confidential
Apart from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, both the Minister of State for Finance and top officials of the Ministry of Finance, employees of the Budget Department will be present in the traditional Halwa Ceremony that has been going on for years. In fact, after getting the consent of the Finance Minister after the brainstorming of making the budget, the document related to the budget is sent to the printing house in the basement of the Ministry of Finance. The budget document is considered highly confidential.
