During this, the speed of freight movement by railways has also decreased. Earlier the average speed of freight traffic was 32.4 km per hour, which has now come down to 27.5 km per hour.

Rail accidents spoil the time-table
Actually rail accidents have increased in recent months. In the recent past, there have been 14 such train accidents in which lives and property have been lost. The most gruesome incident is the train accident in Balasore, Odisha on June 2, in which 294 people lost their lives. The operation of trains has also been affected by these accidents. At the same time, the increase in the number of trains and the construction work are also affecting the operations.
