Stock Market Closing Buying IN FMCG And Energy Stocks Led Market Big Rally Sensex Closes After Rising By 560 Points

Stock Market Closing On 17th January 2023: Tuesday has been an auspicious day for the Indian stock market. The Indian stock market has closed at a brisk pace due to buying by investors. There was buying in FMCG IT and banking stocks. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex rose by 563 points to 60,655 and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 18,055 points with a gain of 160 points.

In today’s trading session, buying was seen in shares of Banking, IT, Auto, FMCG, Energy, Metals, Infra, Oil and Gas sectors. Whereas the shares of Consumer Durables Media, Pharma sector declined. Selling was also seen in midcap and smallcap stocks. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 closed with gains while 7 closed with losses. Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 38 closed with gains while 12 closed with losses.

In today’s trading session, Larsen’s stock closed with a gain of 3.65 per cent, HUL 2.65 per cent, HCL Tech 1.52 per cent, HDFC Bank 1.50 per cent, HDFC 1.49 per cent and Reliance 1.36 per cent. While SBI closed down by 1.56 per cent, IndusInd Bank by 0.74 per cent, Bajaj Finserv by 0.66 per cent, Wipro by 0.51 per cent.

Rise in investor wealth

In today’s trade, the market cap of companies listed on BSE stood at Rs 281.93 lakh crore, while the previous trading session on Friday stood at Rs 280.68 lakh crore. That is, there has been a jump of Rs 1.25 lakh crore in the wealth of investors.
