Shubman Gill in place of KL Rahul: KL Rahul is not a part of Team India in the Test match being played between India and Australia in Indore. He has been kept out of playing-11 for this test. KL Rahul has to drop due to continuous poor performance. Can KL Rahul be dropped from the team in the upcoming Test matches after being dropped from the playing-11? Learn here…
In place of KL Rahul, Shubman Gill has been given a chance by Team India in his playing-11. Shubman Gill is in excellent rhythm at the moment. He has scored a lot of runs in the recent T20 and ODI series. He has also been excellent in Test cricket. Gill played a key role in winning the last Test series against Australia. In such a situation, this player can definitely ensure his place by playing big innings in these remaining two Test matches of Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Now Gill will get some chances, Mayank and Sarfaraz are also in the race
Just like the way KL Rahul has got many opportunities, now the Indian team management will also give chance to Shubman Gill in the next few Test matches, even if he can’t do much with the bat. Then, there are batsmen like Mayank Agarwal and Sarfaraz Khan who are doing exceptionally well in domestic cricket and are challenging KL Rahul. Mayank has rained heavily in Ranji Trophy this time, while Sarfaraz Khan has been scoring runs continuously for the last three Ranji seasons. In such a situation, it is possible that KL Rahul will not only stay out of the playing-11 in the upcoming Test matches, but he can also be ignored in the team selection.
These players will also challenge KL Rahul
Gill, Mayank and Sarfaraz are not the only challenge for KL Rahul. Batsmen like Suryakumar Yadav and Ishaan Kishan can also become an obstacle in his Test squad selection. Actually, both these players have not got a full chance in the Test till now. While Suryakumar Yadav was taken in the playing-11 in only one Test, Ishaan Kishan is still waiting for his Test debut.
KL’s batting average in last 10 innings
Since IPL 2022, KL Rahul is struggling with bad form. He was flopping in ODIs and T20s, now his bat is completely silent in Tests as well. His batting average in the last 10 innings of Test cricket has been less than 13. He has not been able to score more than 23 runs even once in these 10 innings.
