Shubman Gill is not satisfied with his Test performance so far, hopes to perform better than before in the upcoming 10 Test matches, India vs Bangladesh

Shubman Gill in Duleep Trophy: It hasn’t been long since Shubman Gill was declared the vice-captain of the Indian team in ODIs and T20s. The management probably sees Gill as the future of Team India, so it is important for him to do well in Test matches apart from white ball cricket. He has taken up the responsibility of number-3 in the Test team, but in the longer format, he has scored runs at an average of 35.52 so far. But now Gill himself has said that he has not been able to give his best in Test cricket so far.

Shubman Gill has so far scored only 1,492 runs in 25 Test matches for India. Dissatisfied with his Test career, he said, “I have not been able to live up to my expectations so far. Now we have to play 10 consecutive Test matches in the next few months. I am hoping that after these 10 matches, I will be satisfied with my performance or will be able to perform even better than expected.”

Worked on defense

Gill says that he has improved his defense especially against spin bowling. According to him, a player should know how to defend well against spinning balls because only then can shots be played freely. Gill says that due to the increasing influence of T20 cricket and pitches conducive to batting, a batsman’s defense starts to weaken.

Let us also tell you that the Duleep Trophy is starting from September 5, in which Shubman Gill has been appointed the captain of India A. From Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul to Shivam Dubey and Kuldeep Yadav are also present in this team. India A will play its first match from September 5 against India B, which will be captained by Abhimanyu Easwaran.
