Sachin Tendulkar on ODI cricket: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has accepted that in present times, ODI cricket has started getting boring. For this, he does not consider T20 cricket, which is becoming popular all over the world, but the new rules being adopted in ODI format responsible. According to Sachin, ODI cricket is losing interest due to things like use of new ball from both ends and not being able to spit on the ball.
Keeping his point in India Today Enclave, Sachin said, ‘There is no doubt that ODI cricket is now proving to be heavy. Currently there is a rule of two new balls in every innings. When you have two new balls within 50 overs, you don’t see the art of reverse swing. When the 40th over of the innings is going on, it is only the 20th over for every ball and the ball gets reverse swing only around 30 overs. So I think due to having two new balls, this important thing is missing from ODI cricket and it is wrong from the point of view of the bowlers.
Sachin says, ‘At present, predictions can be made easily about ODI matches. It loses its momentum between the 15th to 40th over. It gets boring.
Also advised to remove saliva ban
Sachin Tendulkar said, ‘I am not a medical expert but I think that spitting on the ball should be allowed again. This has been happening for more than 100 years. Players have been using saliva and it has not caused any major harm. Yes, banning it for the last 2-3 years was the right decision, but now that Kovid-19 has been left behind, then the ban should be removed from it.

During this, Sachin Tendulkar suggested to play two innings in ODI cricket like Test. That is, there should be four innings of 25-25 overs, but each team should have only 10 wickets including both the innings. After an innings of 25 overs, the other team gets a chance to play 25 overs. Sachin told that through this format both the teams will get equal help from factors like pitch, toss and aus and the interestingness will also increase.
