Rooney Mara attended the premiere of fiancé Joaquin Phoenix’s new film, “Joker: Folie à Deux,” amid speculation that they secretly tied the knot.
On Monday, the “Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” actress arrived at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood and posed for photos alone.
Mara, 39, kept her look simple by wearing a midi black dress with crisscross straps, a black tie and black strappy closed-toe heels. She pulled her hair back into a sleek bun and took a minimal approach with her jewelry and makeup.
She was notably wearing a ring on that finger.
Phoenix, of course, was there and he, too, walked the carpet alone. The two even crossed paths at one point as the actor, 49, was snapped walking right behind Mara and waving at photographers.
The couple was later spotted walking together but didn’t show any PDA.
Phoenix — who stars in the highly anticipated film alongside Lady Gaga — wore a simple black suit, a white button-down shirt, black tie, black shoes and sunglasses for his big night.
However, he did not appear to be wearing a wedding band on his left hand.
The “Her” actor took a few moments to pose with the “Poker Face” singer, who had dyed her hair red and was wearing a form-fitting black dress with oversized sleeves.
Mara and Phoenix have always kept their relationship private. They rarely pose for red carpet photos together and were last publicly seen standing next to each other exactly one year ago during an intimate showing of the documentary “The Smell of Money.”
Despite their private relationship, Phoenix referred to Mara as his “wife,” fueling speculation that they had gotten married.
The “Napoleon” actor appeared on Sunday’s episode of the “Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso” podcast when he explained how he wrote his 2020 Oscars speech with the help of “my mom and my wife.”
“Rooney was like, ‘That’s what you should say!’” he said later on.
Phoenix and Mara have yet to clarify their relationship status since the rumblings began, and their reps haven’t returned Page Six’s requests for comment.
The couple met while filming the movie “Her” in 2012, but they didn’t get together until 2017 when they reconnected on the set of “Mary Magdalene.”
Phoenix popped the question two years later and they welcomed their first child, a son, in 2020.
Mara later confirmed that she was pregnant with their second child when she debuted a baby bump at the Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany, in February. They have not revealed the baby’s name, gender or date of birth.
