Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar will announce the team for Australia ODI series in the press conference today.

India vs Australia, ODI series: After winning the Asia Cup title for the eighth time, the players of the Indian team have returned back to the country. Now Team India has to play a 3-match ODI series against Australia on home soil before the start of the ODI World Cup. The team for this ODI series starting from September 22 can be announced tonight at 8:30 pm in the press conference to be held by captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar.

There are also reports of some key players being given rest for this series to be held just before the ODI World Cup. Everyone’s eyes are also on the fitness of Akshar Patel and Shreyas Iyer. In Asia Cup 2023, Akshar Patel was out of the final match due to injury in the Super-4 match against Bangladesh.

Shreyas Iyer could not play any match after the group matches due to back spasm problem. Both these players are also part of the team announced for the ODI World Cup. In such a situation, the situation regarding the fitness of these two is also expected to be clarified in the press conference.

Washington Sundar can become Akshar Patel’s alternative

If Akshar Patel is not fit for the World Cup, then Washington Sundar is expected to be given a chance as his replacement. Sundar can be tried in the ODI series against Australia, so that he can be fully prepared for the World Cup. Apart from this, there is a lot of hope that there will be some other major change in the team. Team India will play the first match of this series in Mohali while the last 2 matches of the series will be played on the grounds of Indore and Rajkot on 24th and 27th September.
