Rebel Wilson didn’t receive a “warm” welcome from Meghan Markle when she first met the Duchess of Sussex.
“Meghan wasn’t that cool. She wasn’t naturally hot,” said the “Senior Year” star, 43. “See What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” Thursday.
However, Wilson noted that Markle’s standoffish behavior may be due to her Australian mother, Sue Bonds, asking “slightly rude” questions such as, “‘Where are your kids?'”
“And I’m like, ‘Mom, don’t ask that,'” the actress said.
Wilson said the meeting took place in Santa Barbara, California, and that, in contrast, Prince Harry “couldn’t have been nicer.”
When host Andy Cohen asked the “Pitch Perfect” actress if she knew the royals before meeting, she said she didn’t and that they had a “mutual friend.”
“Maybe that’s why she was like, ‘Who are these annoying criminals from Australia?'” the comedian joked to the Duchess, 41, before repeating Harry, 41, was “lovely”.
Fans on social media had mixed reactions to their memories of Wilson’s run-in with Markle and Harry.
