Rashid Khan withdraws BBL boycott threat, tells officials to make himself available for upcoming season

Rashid Khan will play in the upcoming season of BBL: Afghanistan team’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan has now taken a U-turn regarding his decision to play in the upcoming season of T20 league Big Bash League to be played in Australia. In the year 2022, Australia refused to play the 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan. After this, Rashid Khan had threatened not to play in the Big Bash League. The decision of the Australian team not to play in the ODI series was due to the Taliban government in Afghanistan imposing various restrictions on the girls there.

Rashid Khan had said at that time on the Australian team’s decision not to play in the ODI series that if Australia has trouble playing Afghanistan, then how can I feel comfortable playing myself in the Big Bash League. That’s why I will think seriously about my future in this tournament.

Now according to the Australian Associated Press, the name of 24-year-old Rashid Khan is included in the official list for the upcoming season of BBL. Rashid has talked to the officials about this, showing softness in his attitude to play in the upcoming season.

Apart from Rashid, 3 more players included in the draft

Apart from Rashid Khan, 3 more players from Afghanistan are included in the official draft list of foreign players for the upcoming season of Big Bash League. In this, the names of Mujeeb ur Rehman, Noor Ahmed and Izhar ul Haq Naveed are included in the list. The upcoming season of Big Bash League will start from 7th December while the final match will be played on 24th January. Looking at the T20 World Cup to be held in the year 2024, this T20 league is going to be very important.
