Parliament Special Session Mallikarjun Kharge Attacks Government On Non Payment Of GST Dues To States Nirmala Sitharaman Says Factually Incorrect | Parliament Session: Mallikarjun Kharge made a big attack on the government regarding GST dues in Rajya Sabha, Finance Minister said

GST Update: There was a heated argument between the ruling party and the opposition on the issue of GST dues in the Rajya Sabha in the new Parliament House. Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Central Government in the Rajya Sabha that GST money is not being given to the states. There was a sharp reaction from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on his allegation. Refuting these allegations, the Finance Minister said that this allegation of the Leader of Opposition is beyond the truth.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge in his address attacked the Central Government and said that the states are being weakened. They are not getting GST money. Leader of opposition alleged that MNREGA money is not being given to the states. Even money for agriculture or irrigation is not being received on time. The Finance Minister expressed objection to these allegations of Mallikarjun Kharge.

Finance Minister Sitharaman termed these allegations of the Leader of Opposition as beyond the truth. The Finance Minister said that we have paid the states their GST dues even by borrowing. The Finance Minister said that thrice the government has paid the GST dues of the states in advance. He clarified that no money is outstanding from the states. The Finance Minister said that he has complete data.

After this, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar asked both the Leader of Opposition and the Finance Minister to table the data in support of their respective statements.
