Paris Paralympics 2024: India wins two medals in men’s club throw event, Dharambir wins gold and Pranav Surma wins silver

Men’s Club Throw Gold and Final: The Men’s Club Throw event was very good for India. Dharambir and Pranav Soorma performed brilliantly and gave India two medals in the same event. In the Men’s Club Throw F51 final, Dharambir won the gold medal for India, while Pranav Soorma won the silver. This was medal number 23 and 24 for India. This match was played late night on Wednesday (September 4). Serbia’s Jeljko Dimitrijevic won the bronze medal in the event.

Dharambir won the gold after committing four fouls

Dharambir fouled the first four throws in the final match. Then in the fifth throw he achieved a distance of 34.92 meters and this was his best throw, which won the gold. After this, in the sixth throw, Dharambir achieved a distance of 31.59 meters. In this way, despite fouling the first four throws, Dharambir won the gold medal.

Pranav Surma achieved the best in the first throw itself

On the other hand, Pranav Surma achieved his best in his first throw itself. His first throw was 34.59, which put a silver medal in his account. Then in the second throw, he set a distance of 34.19 and the third throw was a foul. After this, he achieved a distance of 34.50 in the fourth throw, 33.90 in the fifth and 33.70 in the sixth throw.

Let us tell you that the third Indian participating in the event, Amit Kumar, could not win a medal. He could only make a best throw of 23.96. With this throw, Amit Kumar finished 10th in the event. At the same time, Serbia’s Jeljko Dimitrijevic won the bronze in the event by throwing 34.18.

India got 4 medals on the seventh day

It is worth noting that on the seventh day, India won a total of 4 medals, taking the total number of medals to 24. The 4 medals won on the seventh day included 2 gold and 2 silver. Gold medals were won in Men’s Recurve and Men’s Club Throw F51 in Archery. Silver medals were won in Men’s Club Throw F51 and Men’s Shot Put F46.
