Pankaj Advani World Billiards Championship 2023: India’s star cue player Pankaj Advani created history. He defeated Saurav Kothari in the final of the IBSF World Billiards Championship on Tuesday. With this, Pankaj won the IBSF World Billiards Championship title for the 26th time. Saurav is also an Indian player. But he could not stand against Pankaj in the final.
Pankaj won his first world title in 2005. He has won the title nine times in the long format, while he has been the champion eight times in the point format. Apart from this, he was also successful in winning the World Team Billiards Championship once. Advani had earlier defeated compatriot Indian Rupesh Shah 900-273 in the semi-finals. Kothari had defeated Dhruv Sitwala 900-756 in the semi-finals.
Pankaj had also performed brilliantly in the semi-finals. Pankaj, 26-time champion of World Billiards and Snooker, defeated Rupesh Shah in the semi-finals. With this he had made it to the finals. Pankaj defeated Rupesh 900-273. Talking about Saurav Kothari, he defeated Dhruv Sitwala in the second semi-final. Kothari had achieved a thrilling victory of 900-756 in this match.
It is noteworthy that Pankaj Advani’s career so far has been excellent. He made his international debut in 1999. Pankaj had participated in the World Billiards Championship in England. He won the IBSF World Billiards Championship title in 2005. He became the first player to achieve the Grand Double. He has also won the gold medal for India. Pankaj got gold medal in Asian Games 2010. He participated in singles. Before this, he had also won gold in the 2006 Asian Games. It was organized in Doha.
