NPPA Decision: Drug prices regulator NPPA said on Monday that it has fixed the retail price of 74 drugs, including drugs for the treatment of diabetes and high blood pressure. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed the prices of drugs under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order 2013 based on the decision taken in the 109th meeting of the Authority held on 21st February.
NPPA issued notification
According to the notification, NPPA has fixed the price of one tablet of Dapagliflozin Sitagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride (Extended-Release Tablet) at Rs 27.75.
Know the cost of blood pressure lowering medicine
Similarly, the drug pricing regulator has fixed the price of one tablet of blood pressure lowering drug telmisartan and bisoprolol fumarate at Rs 10.92. The NPPA has also revised the ceiling prices of 80 notified drugs (NLEM 2022), including those used in the treatment of epilepsy and neutropenia.

The NPPA enforces and amends the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order.
Changes in the prices of these medicines
The price of the drug containing Sodium Valproate in one tablet (200 mg) has been revised by NPPA and fixed at Rs.3.20 per tablet. Apart from this, the price of Filgrastim injection (one vial) has been fixed at Rs 1034.51. Apart from this, the price of Hydrocortisone, which is a steroid, has been changed to Rs 13.28 per tablet.
