The government has fixed the prices of 41 medicines and 6 formulations. In this diabetes 41 medicines including diabetes, pain reliever, heart, liver, antacid, infection, allergy, multivitamin, antibiotic have been included. So 41 medicines are going to become cheaper. Due to which patients will not have to spend much for these medicines. Soon these medicines will be available in the market with new and affordable prices.

The decision to reduce drug prices was taken in the 143rd meeting of the National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (NPPA). After the decision of NPPA, gadget notification has also been issued. Also, companies have been instructed to immediately inform dealers and stockists in this regard. Apart from this, NPPA has also clarified that only if the pharmaceutical company has paid GST, then the pharmaceutical company can collect GST from the consumers in addition to the price of the medicine.

41 medicines will be cheaper

Generally, except for infections and allergies, these multivitamins and antibiotics cost more. This also increases the cost of general treatment. In such a situation, common people will get relief from these 41 medicines becoming cheaper. Also in February this year, NPPA had reduced the prices of 69 medicines used in both diabetes and hypertension. NPPA had fixed the retail price of 69 drug formulations used in these diseases and fixed the drug prices of 31 formulations.

Meanwhile, the Central Government has taken this decision to control the rising prices of medicines. Many people across the country are struggling with problems like multivitamins, antibiotics, allergies, infections, diabetes, pain killers, heart, liver etc. If we talk only about diabetes then the figures in India are worrying. According to media reports, about 10 crore patients in India are suffering from diabetes. NPPA believes that in such a situation, reducing the prices of medicines will provide some relief to the people. NPPA is a government regulatory body that controls the prices of pharmaceutical drugs in India.
