Newlywed Chris Evans makes rare comment on Alba Baptista

Chris Evans is in love.

The “Captain America” star made a rare comment about his now-wife, Alba Baptista, in his steamy new GQ profile.

Evans briefly referenced his “girlfriend” in the October 2023 cover story published Tuesday, with the magazine noting that the interview had been conducted “a couple months” before the notoriously private couple’s Sept. 9 wedding.

“I haven’t worked all year, and I don’t plan to, which has been lovely,” he began.

“My girlfriend that I’ve had for a while, when we began dating, I was like, ‘Yeah, I do one movie a year. I try to never work now.’”

However, the Marvel actor, 42, noted that after just “a few months of dating,” he and the “Warrior Nun” actress, 26, ended up “living in Atlanta for a year.”

Evans filmed the upcoming action-adventure Christmas film “Red One” in the Georgia capital in the fall of 2022.

“And even when that year was happening, I was like, man, never again,” he shared.

The “Avengers” star mentioned his “girlfriend” in passing once again when GQ writer Zach Baron asked whether he felt he was being put “in one particular box” during their conversation.

“No, not at all. Not at all,” Evans replied. “Actually, that’s so funny. My girlfriend’s really big into people’s energies and first impressions. I’m not so much, because I feel that I don’t always give off the same thing out of the gate. So I try to really reserve judgment.”

Page Six broke the news of the hunky movie star’s marriage to Baptista after they exchanged vows at his Boston-area home in front of close family and friends.

A source told us that the nuptials had been “locked down tight,” with guests signing nondisclosure agreements and surrendering their cellphones once they arrived.

The A-list attendees included some of the groom’s co-stars, including Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner.

We later reported that the newlyweds were planning “a second gathering” in the bride’s native Portugal for her loved ones who could not make the trip to the US.

Evans and Baptista’s low-key romance did not make headlines until November 2022 when People reported that they had already been together for “over a year.”
