Nepal cricket team leaves for Asia Cup without rape accused Sandeep Lamichhane

Sandeep Lamichhane Asia Cup: There is not much time left for the start of Asia Cup 2023. The Nepal cricket team, which is going to play in this tournament for the first time, also left for Pakistan on 22 August. However, star leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane did not go with the team. Actually, after Sandeep was accused of raping a minor in Nepal, the hearing of this case is going on in the court.

Sandeep Lamichhane has to appear in the court for the hearing of this case. This matter came to light when a 17-year-old minor girl in Kathmandu filed a rape case against Sandeep. On the other hand, Sandeep had called all the allegations false along with declaring himself innocent in this matter. The next hearing of this matter in the court will be on August 27.

Before the Nepal team left for Pakistan, the manager of Nepal Cricket Association, Pradeep Mazgaiyan, while talking to the media, informed about Sandeep that a court case is going on against him and he has to appear, so he is not going with us. Apart from this, Sandeep also has some health problems.

Nepal will play its first match against Pakistan

A total of 6 teams are participating in the upcoming Asia Cup, which includes hosts Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal. In the tournament, the teams are divided into groups of 3-3. Nepal’s team has to play its first match against Pakistan on 30 August, while the team has to play the second match against India in Sri Lanka on 4 September.
