Enraged, Shiva destroyed Daksh's yajna and started roaming in the universe with Sati's body. On the lamentation of Shiva, Lord Vishnu cut off the body parts of Mother Sati with his Sudarshan Chakra. According to religious beliefs, the stone situated on the head of the goddess in the Devi Kunal Pathri temple is always filled with water. It is believed that when water dries on this stone it rains. There is never any shortage of water here. Stone water is distributed as prasad. It is said that all the diseases of a person who drinks this water are cured.
