National Startup Awards 2022: Union Minister Piyush Goyal will announce the results of National Startup Awards 2022 tomorrow on 16 January 2023 in New Delhi. National Startup Awards 2022 is the third edition of these awards. Under these, apart from the context of economic benefits, awards will be given to outstanding startups and those who lead them, showing extraordinary potential for the society.
MAARG platform will also be launched – know what will be special
Shri Goyal will also launch the ‘MARG’ platform (Guidance, Mentorship, Support, Strengthening and Development). Under this, it will facilitate mentorship between startups and entrepreneurs related to sectors, stages and tasks. The matchmaking phase of the portal, which will be launched on the occasion, will go a long way in helping startups connect with mentors and discuss their mentorship needs.
Startup awards will be given in government program
Piyush Goyal is also the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution along with Textiles Minister. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Prakash will also be present along with Cabinet Minister Piyush Goyal while announcing these startup awards tomorrow.

Each startup will get a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh
Winner and finalist startups will be able to benefit from support for their business development, mentorship, funding, partnerships, market access opportunities. Through this, he will be able to provide his services as a role model for other entrepreneurs. Each winning startup will also be given a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh. An exceptional incubator and an accelerator will also get a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh each.
367 winners and finalists have been recognized under 2020 and 2021
Those 367 startups have been recognized as winners and finalists under the National Startup Awards 2020 and 2021, which have helped them scale up their businesses and create a positive impact nationally and globally at large.
Applications were invited in 17 sectors for the National Startup Award 2022. These were further divided into 50 sub sectors and 7 special categories. These sectors include agriculture, animal husbandry, construction, drinking water, education and skill development, energy, enterprise technology, environment, fintech, food processing, health and wellness, media and entertainment, industry 4.0, safety, space, transport and travel.
Special category of awards started for North East
A special award category has been started this year to recognize the efforts of startups from the hilly and northeastern regions of India. This category is in addition to a special category introduced for startups led by women, startups creating a positive impact in rural areas.
