MS Dhoni IPL 2025 Uncapped Player CSK: Recently, MS Dhoni has been in the news a lot, the issue of him being included in the list of uncapped players in the mega auction of IPL 2025 is continuously gaining momentum. There is no clear answer from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) whether Dhoni will be retained as an uncapped player for the upcoming auction or not. But do you know that Dhoni had taken an amount of Rs 7.5 lakh for scoring one run in IPL 2024.

One run of 7.5 lakhs

MS Dhoni had scored 161 runs while playing 14 matches in IPL 2024. He batted at a strike rate of more than 220, but still this performance of Dhoni was very costly for CSK. Dhoni’s salary in IPL 2024 was Rs 12 crore. If the per run figures are calculated then Dhoni’s one run cost CSK Rs 7.5 lakh. Whereas in IPL 2023, Dhoni had scored only 104 runs and that year the price of one run of ‘Thala’ was more than 11 lakhs.

CSK may suffer huge loss

CSK CEO had recently issued a statement on whether Dhoni will be kept in the list of uncapped players or not. Kasi Vishwanathan said, “We cannot say anything at the moment. We may not use the uncapped player retention card on Dhoni. Nothing can be said on this subject right now because we have not spoken to him properly.”

If Dhoni is included in the list of uncapped players, his salary will be Rs 4 crore. If this happens, he will suffer a loss of Rs 8 crore in terms of salary. On the other hand, Dhoni’s scoring less runs can also prove to be a loss deal for Chennai Super Kings.
