Online Gaming Excellence Center in Shillong : The country’s Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar (MoS For Electronics & Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar) has given great news to startups related to online gaming. Announcing in Shillong today, the Minister said that India’s first Center of Excellence in Online Gaming will be set up in Shillong by March this year through Software Technology Parks of India. The establishment of this center in Shillong will give a lot of impetus to the startups of the entire North East region to build the next generation of online gaming.
Next wave of startups in North East India
Minister of State, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said at the conference held here, “This next wave of startups and entrepreneurs under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come from Shillong, Kohima and parts of North East India. It may be known that recently the Ministry of Electronics and IT has circulated the draft of amendment in IT Rules 2021 regarding online gaming for public consultation.
Soon a campus will be built in 10 acres
Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar said that the rate of digitization of products, services and equipment is continuously increasing all over the world. Chandrashekhar announced another initiative of the Ministry to set up a state-of-the-art facility under the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) at Shillong to impart training on state-of-the-art digital skills. A 10-acre campus will soon be built for this purpose, which will cater to the skilling requirement of the youth in the North East region.
50,000 youth will get employment
Minister Chandrasekhar also said that the government is going to restart Skill India through PMKVY 4.0 (PMKVY), which will provide industry-backed employment opportunities to about 50,000 youth in Meghalaya as well as make them future ready. Will give training in skills.
He said, “PM Modi is building a new India again for the Indian youth. There are many opportunities available today and hence skills become important to take advantage of these opportunities and skill is the new passport to prosperity. It has set a target of skilling 60,000 youth in Tripura and 35,000 in Nagaland in a wide range of approved courses.
