Meanwhile, about 11,000 employees of Microsoft will be laid off today. According to a report, it has been reported that the global tech giant Microsoft is going to show thousands of its employees the way out.

Downsizing role in Microsoft

According to a report by news agency Reuters, thousands of roles are being reduced in Microsoft and as part of this retrenchment process, Microsoft will reduce 5 percent of its total functionality. Under this, a total of 11,000 roles will be reduced, which will mainly be under Human Resource (HR) and Engineering Division.

Why is Microsoft reducing the number of employees?

In fact, in view of the worsening global outlook, America’s big technology companies like Amazon, Meta are already getting retrenched. Now the latest name is of Microsoft which is going to hand over pink slips to its employees. Microsoft has a total of 2 lakh 21 thousand full time employees and out of these 1 lakh 22 thousand employees work only in America. According to the filing of 30 June 2022, the company has 99,000 employees engaged in work internationally.
