Microsoft Server Outage Crowdstrike shares fall around 20 per cent in pre opening trade

Today, the impact of Microsoft's server going down is being seen from airlines to banking and IT sectors. Even the stock markets are not unaffected by this outage. The company which is being held responsible for this global problem, its shares have fallen by 20 percent.

The stock fell so much in pre-open

CrowdStrike Holdings' stock is showing signs of falling up to 20 percent before the US market opens. In the pre-open session, at 5:45 am US time (3:15 pm Indian time), CrowdStrike's stock was trading 19.55 percent lower at $276. Earlier on Thursday, the stock closed 3.35 percent lower at $343.05 in the US market.

Many sectors were deeply affected

Actually today proved to be a difficult day for the whole world due to problems in Microsoft's operating system Windows 10. Users of Microsoft's Windows 10 OS had to face the problem of Death Blue Screen today. Due to this, apart from common users, the work of aviation sector, airports, banks and financial companies, IT sector, stock markets etc. got affected.

CrowdStrike explained the reason for the outage

CrowdStrike, a cyber security services company, is being blamed for this problem. CrowdStrike itself has admitted that it rolled out an update globally on Friday, due to which users faced the problem of blue screen in Windows 10 operating system. Due to Windows 10 being affected, many such services of Microsoft also came to a halt, which are used by hundreds of renowned companies from various sectors.

There was already selling pressure

Microsoft's services like PowerBay, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Microsoft Purview, Viva Engage were disrupted today. Its impact is visible on CrowdStrike in the stock market. This trouble has come for CloudStrike at a time when there was already selling pressure on its shares. Brokerage Redburn Atlantic had downgraded CrowdStrike a day earlier. It had reduced the target of the cyber security company from $380 to $275.
