Janmashtami 2023: Today Shri Krishna Janmashtami (Krishna Janmashtami 2023). It is said that Lord Vishnu took his eighth incarnation as Shri Krishna on Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. That’s why Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated every year on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated with great enthusiasm as the birth of Lord Krishna. According to religious beliefs and scriptures, Shri Krishna was born at midnight. This is the reason why there is a law to worship Lord Krishna at night on the day of Krishna Janmashtami.

Do not commit these ‘mistakes’ on Janmashtami

Devotees of Shri Krishna are not only in India but all over the world. Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the world. Devotees try to get the blessings and grace of Lord Vishnu by fasting and worshipping. But, some things should be kept in mind on this day. Don’t do anything wrong even by mistake on Shri Krishna Janmashtami, otherwise you will have to suffer.

Some things should be avoided while celebrating Janmashtami. Otherwise you will be at loss.

• Do not pluck basil leaves even by mistake. If basil leaves are needed for Krishna Puja on this day, they should be plucked a day before. Basil leaves should not be plucked on Janmashtami. Don’t cut any tree.
• Don’t insult the cow. Do not disturb the cow or the calf in any way. Mother cow is very dear to Lord Krishna, so do not do any work that insults mother cow on this day.
• Don’t consume meat, alcohol and don’t bring it into the house. Avoid using garlic and onion in food on this day.
• Don’t insult anyone. According to religious belief, insulting any person, rich or poor, on this day incurs the wrath of Lord Vishnu.
• Do not eat rice or paddy. Whether you are fasting or not, avoid eating rice or paddy on Janmashtami.
• Do not wear black clothes while sitting in worship. Wearing yellow colored clothes is considered auspicious on this day.
• If there is a fast, then it should be opened only after 12 o’clock in the night.
• Follow celibacy.
