GST Collection Data: The figures of Goods and Services Tax collection have come out. Goods and Services collection in September 2024 was Rs 1.73 lakh crore, which is 6.5 percent more than Rs 1.63 lakh crore in the same period last year. The GST collection in August 2024 was Rs 1.74 lakh crore. After issuing GST refunds, the total collection has increased by 4 percent in the month of September to Rs 1.53 lakh crore.
Collection of Rs 10.72 lakh crore in the first half
In the first month of the financial year 2024-25, April, a GST collection of Rs 2.10 lakh crore was seen, which is an all-time high. But since then there has been a decline in the collection. The collection was Rs 1.73 lakh crore in May 2024, Rs 1.6 lakh crore in June, Rs 1.82 lakh crore in July 2024, and Rs 1.74 lakh crore in August. The total GST collection in the first half of the current financial year has been Rs 10.72 lakh crore.
31 percent jump in refunds
According to GST collection data, in the month of September, total CGST collection was Rs 31,422 crore, SGST collection was Rs 39,283 crore, IGST collection was Rs 46,087 crore and Cess collection was Rs 11,059 crore. That means the gross domestic revenue has been Rs 1,27,850 crore which was Rs 1,20,686 crore in the same period last year. Gross import revenue has been Rs 45,390 crore. A total refund of Rs 20,458 crore has been issued in the month of September, which was Rs 15,614 crore in the previous year.
33 percent decline in Manipur’s GST revenue
If we look at the GST revenue of the states, there has been a jump of 24 percent in the revenue of Haryana, 20 percent in the revenue of Delhi and 5 percent in the revenue of Maharashtra. The revenue of Tamil Nadu has also increased by 5 percent and that of Karnataka by 8 percent. There has been an increase of 3 percent in the revenue of Uttar Pradesh. Whereas a 33 percent decline in GST revenue of violence-affected Manipur has been seen in Sinthar.
