Heavy rain in Colombo Asia Cup 2023: After the group stage matches in the Asia Cup 2023 are over, now the Super-4 matches have started. The Indian team has to play its first match in this Super-4 against Pakistan on September 10 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Due to the shadow of rain in this match, there is a danger of its cancellation. Heavy rains have been continuing in Colombo for the last few days, in such a situation, its effect was also seen on the preparations of the Indian team that reached Colombo from Pallekele.

Team India played both its group matches at the Pallekele Cricket Stadium in Kandy. In this, the match against Pakistan was canceled after one innings due to rain. And in the match against Nepal, the result was achieved according to the Duckworth-Lewis rule. Now even in Colombo, rain can become a big problem for Team India.

The match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be played on September 9 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. After this, on September 10, the teams of India and Pakistan will once again be face to face. Team India wants to keep its preparation strong for this match, but according to the reports, due to the rain, the players are not able to practice.

Weather expected to improve after September 9

The Director of Sri Lanka Meteorology has informed in a statement to PTI TV that after September 9, Colombo’s weather will see improvement, it will be sunny and cloudy but there will be very little rain. The final match of Asia Cup 2023 is also to be played in Colombo on September 17 and the Meteorological Department there has not expressed any expectation of rain.
