Stock Market Closing On 20th January 2023: The Indian stock market closed with a decline on the last trading day of the week. Due to profit booking in IT and FMCG stocks, this decline has been seen in the market. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex fell by 253 points to 60,602 points and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed by 85 points at 18,022 points.

In today’s trading session, the shares of banking, oil and gas sector closed with a boom. So selling was seen in the shares of Auto, IT, Pharma, FMCG, Metals, Energy and Infra sectors. Midcap and smallcap stocks also closed with losses. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 9 closed with gains while 21 closed with losses. Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 12 closed with gains while 38 closed with losses.

In today’s trading session, Power Grid closed with a gain of 1.20 per cent, HDFC Bank 1.02 per cent, HDFC 0.87 per cent, ITC 0.72 per cent, Tata Motors 0.59 per cent. So HUL closed down by 3.84 per cent, Asian Paints by 2.79 per cent, Bajaj Finance by 2.57 per cent, Nestle by 2.37 per cent and Bajaj Finserv by 1.58 per cent.

In today’s business, the market cap of companies listed on BSE came down to Rs 280.24 lakh crore, which was Rs 281.66 lakh crore on Thursday. Due to this decline, there has been a loss of Rs 1.42 lakh crore.
