IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders continues to be a topic of discussion for its good performance in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League. On one hand, Gautam Gambhir's mentorship in the franchise has been highly appreciated, but KKR head coach, Chandrakant Pandit has been in the news for all the wrong reasons for his coaching style. Chandrakant has been the head coach of KKR since 2022 and now David VJ and N Jagadeesan, who have played for Kolkata, have given a big statement about Chandrakant's strict coaching style.
It seems as if they have divided into two groups due to Chandrakant's style of coaching. The first group is those who have accepted Chandrakant's coaching style, while there are some players who perhaps have not accepted this style yet. Well, whatever be their coaching style, KKR has started IPL 2024 with a bang.
Varun Chakraborty's T-shirt cut off
N Jagadeesan is not playing in IPL 2024. While commenting in Tamil during the KKR vs DC match, he told how Chandrakant Pandit had torn Varun Chakraborty's T-shirt. He told, “Last year during the KKR camp, Chandrakant had told that today he has to wear sleeveless clothes, but Varun had come wearing full sleeve clothes by mistake that day. The coach called Varun and asked him to wear his T-shirt. The arms were cut with scissors.”
David VJ had given a controversial statement
The issue of Chandrakant Pandit's strict coaching came to light after David VJ's statement. David said, “Chandrakant Pandit coaches in a very strict manner. He is very strict and likes to follow discipline. Sometimes in franchise cricket, when you have foreign players in your team, who have played all over the world. He “They don't need to be told how they should behave, what they should wear. They don't need to be told all this all the time.”
