ICC 2023 ODI World Cup: Team India has been announced for the 2023 ODI World Cup to be played in the country from 5 October. BCCI announced India’s 15-member team for the World Cup on Tuesday. However, it is considered difficult for 4 players to play even a single match. Let us know who are those four players.
1- Suryakumar Yadav
T20 specialist batsman Saryakumar Yadav has been selected in India’s 15-member squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup. However, it is impossible for him to stay in the playing XI. Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya will be in the middle order of Team India in the World Cup. Surya has been selected as Iyer’s backup. Suryakumar will be included in the playing eleven only if Iyer is unfit in a match. Otherwise Surya will be seen sitting on the bench in all the matches.
2- Mohammed Shami
Fast bowler Mohammed Shami can be seen sitting on the bench in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Actually, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has made it clear in the Asia Cup itself that he wants depth in the batting order and for this reason Shardul Thakur can be selected in the playing XI. Siraj, Bumrah and Shardul will be the first choice in the World Cup. If any of these is unfit then only Shami can get a chance.
3- Akshar Patel
Spin all-rounder Akshar Patel has been included in the team as a backup to Ravindra Jadeja. It is difficult for Akshar Patel to play a single match in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He can be seen sitting on the bench in all the matches. Actually, only one of Jadeja and Akshar will be included in the final eleven. In such a situation, Jadeja will be the first choice of captain and coach. Even in the Asia Cup, Akshar is sitting on the bench.
4- Ishan Kishan
Ishaan Kishan has been selected in the World Cup team as a reserve wicketkeeper. KL Rahul is fully fit. In such a situation, it is certain that he will play in the World Cup. However, if Rahul is unfit in a match, then Ishaan Kishan can be included in the playing eleven.
India’s 15-member squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup- Rohit Sharma (Captain), Hardik Pandya (Vice-Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Akshar Patel, Ishan Kishan (reserve wicket-keeper) ) and Suryakumar Yadav.
