India vs Bangladesh win without maiden over: The test match played between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur was historic for many reasons. In this encounter, Team India has defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets. The first three days were lost to rain, but in the last two days, India played in such a way that it did not seem as if a Test match was being played in Kanpur. Now India has become the first country which has registered victory in the history of Test cricket without playing any maiden over.
No maiden over was played in both the innings
This has happened before in cricket when a team had achieved the feat of winning the match without playing a maiden over. This happened in the England vs South Africa match played in Durban in 1939. England scored 469 runs in the first innings and the English batsmen did not allow South Africa to bowl a single maiden over. England won that match by a margin of an innings and 13 runs.
In that match, England did not bat in the second innings. Therefore, India has now become the first country to win a Test match without playing any maiden over in both the innings. Bangladesh’s first innings was reduced to 233 runs. Since the first three days of the match were affected by rain, Team India batted aggressively and scored 285 runs in 34.4 overs.
In the second innings, India got the target of 95 runs, which India achieved in just 17.2 overs. In this way, Team India played only 52 overs in the entire match and scored a total of 383 runs. Bangladesh bowled 52 overs, but its bowlers could not bowl even a single over.
