Shubman Gill Century: Indian team’s star young opener Shubman Gill’s excellent batting form continues. Shubman has scored a brilliant century in the first match of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. This is his second consecutive century in ODIs. In the first ODI being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Shubman completed a century off 87 balls with the help of 14 fours and 2 sixes.
Also completed 1000 ODI runs
Shubman Gill also completed 1000 ODI runs of his career in the first ODI against New Zealand. He achieved this special position in his 19th innings. Along with this, Shubman became the second player along with Imamul Haq to complete 1000 runs in the fastest ODI. At the same time, he has become the first player from India to do this feat. Before him, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan had completed their 1000 ODI runs in 24 innings.
Hit a century in the second consecutive ODI
Shubman scored a century in the second consecutive ODI against New Zealand. He had earlier played an inning of 116 runs in the third and last match of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. At the same time, he has scored a century in the very first match of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. In such a situation, this is the second century in the second consecutive ODI for Shubman. Against New Zealand, Shubman has scored his third ODI century in his 19th innings. This is the third fastest ODI century for India after Shikhar Dhawan (17) innings.
Shubman Gill is currently running in amazing form. He is continuously scoring runs for India in ODI format. Looking at Shubman’s excellent form, his ODI World Cup 2023 ticket is being considered confirmed. In the last five ODIs, two centuries and one half-century have come out of Shubman’s bat.
