JNU Admission Process And Hostel Accommodation: JNU or Jawaharlal Nehru University is considered one of the best universities in the country. There is a queue of students to take admission here. Along with studies, this place is also famous for hostel and mess facilities available in very little money. For this reason, students are eager to take admission. Admission will be done through CUET

The last date for this year’s admission has passed, but broadly understand that admission in JNU will be done through CUET score. Earlier they used to conduct their own entrance examination, but now only the score of CUET i.e. Common University Entrance Test is recognized.

Fill the form for the class in which you want admission. The merit list will be released in due course of time on the basis of scores and available seats as well as total applications received. Candidates who get selected can be a part of the further process by paying the fees.

Many merit lists will be released

Multiple merit lists will be released for admission. You can see whether your name is there in the list till the end. On having the name, you can do other things like depositing fees, submitting documents. Proceed only after getting the eligibility related information about each course from the university website.

Have to apply for hostel

If you want JNU hostel facility then apply well in time. It starts even before admission. Since space is limited and applications are numerous, hostels are given after considering several aspects. There is a facility of reservation in hostels for reserved and PH categories. After this, the rest of the candidates can apply for the remaining seats.

Preference is given to candidates coming from outside and whose family income is less than Rs 75,000 per annum. Apart from this, only those doing full time and scholar courses get hostel. This facility is not available for part time courses. Leaving the scholar, the rest of the class has to share the room. Along with the hostel, mess facility is also available.

The fee for admission in the hostel is Rs. Security Rs 50, Mess Security (which is later refunded) is Rs 750. Mess advance is Rs.750 (adjustable), Rs.15 annual charge for newspaper and Rs.50 for crockery.

The rent for a single seated room is Rs 240 and for a double seated room is Rs 120. There are a total of 18 hostels out of which 10 are for boys and 8 are for girls. There is a girls hostel for married women. A total of 5500 students can live in all these together.
