Buffer stock of lentils will be increased
Food Consumer Ministry said that all the stakeholders will have to disclose the stock of Masoor Dal by visiting https://fcainfoweb.nic.in/psp. If stock of masoor dal without disclosure is found, it will be considered hoarding and strict action will be taken against such people under the Essential Commodities Act. Rohit Kumar Singh, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, while reviewing the prices, has instructed the department to increase the buffer stock of Masoor Dal. The aim of the government is to purchase Masoor Dal at the minimum support price (MSP).
Government’s warning to hoarders
Rohit Kumar Singh said that the import of Masoor Dal from Canada and Arhar Dal from African countries is going to increase. Some people are trying to increase the prices of pulses by influencing the market against the interests of the consumers and the country. He said that the government is keeping a close watch and will take strict steps to release the stock of pulses in the market so that pulses can be made available to the consumers at reasonable prices during the festive season. Rohit Kumar Singh said that taking care of the interests of farmers and consumers, the department will not hesitate to take action against such people who are working against the interests of consumers and farmers.
