Mumbai : everywhere ganeshotsav 2023 It has almost started. On Ganesh Chaturthi (Ganesh Chaturthi 2023), Ganesh Bappa is being worshiped with joy in every house. Worship is done to please Lord Ganesha. Bappa’s immersion will be done on the day of Anant Chaturdashi i.e. 28 September 2023. Shri Ganesha is considered a trouble-shooter. Ganpati Bappa removes all the obstacles, but Ganpati Bappa, who removes all the obstacles from the path of the devotees, was also once stuck in big trouble. The reason for this was Saturn. The ten-day Ganeshotsav begins from Ganesh Chaturthi and ends with the immersion of Lord Ganesha on Anant Chaturdashi. It is said in the scriptures that Lord Ganesha was born on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This day is also called Ganesh Chaturthi (Ganesh Chaturthi 2023).

Ganesh and Shanidev story

According to the story of Brahmavaivarta Purana, the birth of Ganesha, the younger son of Lord Shankar and Mother Parvati, was celebrated with great pomp in Shivlok. All the gods and goddesses had reached Mount Kailash to bless Ganapati. Shani, the god of justice, also participated in the festivities but stood with his neck bowed. Shani Dev did not look at Lord Ganesha even once. Mother Parvati was surprised by this.

When Shanidev’s evil gaze fell on Ganpati…

Mother Parvati asked Shanidev why he was standing with his head bowed and not looking towards baby Ganesha. Shanidev told Mother Parvati that due to the crooked vision of Shanidev, seeing Lord Ganesha may cause harm. On the request of Mother Parvati, Shanidev was forced to look towards Ganapati. As soon as Shanidev’s eyes fell on Lord Ganesha, his head got separated from the body and flew into the sky. Seeing this, Mother Parvati fainted.

After this, Lord Vishnu rode on Garuda and went towards the north in search of the head of Lord Ganesha. Then he returned to Kailash with the elephant’s head and then the elephant’s head was attached to the torso of Ganapati. In this way Shri Ganesh got life again.
