Employees Provident Fund: Employees Provident Fund i.e. PF is such an account, which gives a good amount on the retirement of an employee. However, it is necessary that from time to time money is deposited in the salary of the employee and money is being deposited on behalf of the company. Equal contribution is made by both the employee and the company i.e. employer under the EPF account.
If money is not being deposited in your PF account for some time, which you can know from the details of PF account, then it may happen that your employer is not depositing money in your account. There have been several reports of companies failing to deposit money in the EPF accounts of employees. Recently, the news of failure to deposit money in the Byju Employees Provident Fund Organization came to the fore. Later it made this payment very late.
What to do if the employer is not depositing money?
If you find yourself in a situation where EPF contribution is missing from your EPF account, here’s what you can do? According to the expert, if money is being transferred to the EPF account on behalf of the employees, but the employer is not transferring the money to the account, then the employee can approach the EPFO. Can inform them about it. Along with this, the employee can lodge a complaint on the EPF I Grievance System portal or a written complaint can be lodged with the PF authorities.
Documents required
Some documents are required to lodge a complaint on EPFO. First of all, the employee will have to give the proof of non-deduction i.e. EPF account details. Along with this, information about salary slip and EPF statement will have to be given.
What will happen&zwj if the complaint is found true
If the complaint made is found correct, then the company or employer will have to deposit the remaining amount. After that interest will be deposited on it annually.
