EPFO Office: Employees Provident Fund Organization has given a good news to the employees. Employees have been given cycles by EPFO. This cycle has been given to the employees for coming and going to the office. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given this facility only to the local people.
In fact, this initiative has been started to make Jammu a carbon-neutral city as part of an environment-friendly initiative. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given cycles to its employees for local commuting. The initiative was started by 50-year-old Provident Fund Commissioner Rizwan-ud-Din.
This initiative started in many government departments
EPFO in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh has taken this initiative to reduce the use of harmful fuel and help in making the city carbon-neutral. This is a special initiative for this environment by many government departments and private organizations. Rizwan-ud-Din himself also uses a bicycle to go to office.

Regarding this special initiative, he said that after considering factors like employee’s health, traffic congestion and environmental concerns, the decision has been taken by the Employees’ Welfare Committee with everyone’s consent. He said that we got the award for being the ‘Best Remote Office’ and the prize money of Rs 5 lakh has been used to buy these cycles.

He further said that a city becomes smart when its citizens become smart. Smart city plans need to include a cycle lane so that we can have a more eco-friendly city. A total of 30 cycles have been given to the employees for commuting to office. EPFO Enforcement Officer Jagpreet Singh said that it is proud to say that we are not only working on government activities and providing services but also working towards the health of the employees.
