MGNREGA New Wage: The central government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a wonderful gift to the rural laborers across the country. Rural laborers will now start getting more wages in just a few days. Although the rate of daily wages (MGNREGA Wage Rate) has been increased by different amounts in different states.
Will be applicable from next month
The Ministry of Rural Development had issued a notification on March 24 regarding the change in wage rates under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005. Now the increased rates of MNREGA have been notified for the next financial year i.e. 2023-24. This means that under the MNREGA scheme, rural laborers will get more money from 01 April 2023.
Highest rate in this state
After the change in MNREGA rates, Haryana now has the highest daily wage of Rs 357, while Chhattisgarh is at the bottom with a wage of Rs 221 per day. The central government has the right to change the wage rates of the scheme under section 6(1) of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005. The government has used this right.
Highest wage increase here
From next month, MNREGA rates have been increased from Rs.07 to Rs.26 according to the states. Comparing the old rates and the new rates, Rajasthan has seen the maximum increase of 10.38 per cent. The current rate of MNREGA in Rajasthan is Rs 231 per day, which will now increase to Rs 255 per day from April 01.

This is the purpose of MNREGA
The central government started this scheme in the year 2006 to guarantee employment to people in rural areas. The objective of this scheme is to guarantee at least 100 days of work in a financial year to unskilled laborers in rural areas, so that the income from this can improve the standard of living of poor rural families. This scheme of the Ministry of Rural Development has been appreciated by many international schemes.
