Ministry of Education: In the field of education, continuous changes are being made by the Ministry of Education. Union Ministry of Education has made important announcements regarding school education-examination today. These announcements have been made while implementing the provisions of the National Education Policy 2020. According to which now the board examinations will be conducted twice a year. In which the students will have the option that they can consider the best marks in the examinations of both the sessions as final.
Board exams are conducted by all the boards only once in a year. The new exam pattern based board examinations by the Ministry of Education will evaluate the understanding and competitive achievements of the students regarding the subjects. Also the present practice of ‘covering’ the copies in the class will be avoided. Also the cost of the copy will be optimized. Also school boards will develop the capability to offer ‘on demand’ testing in due course.
Board exams will be held twice
The good thing for the students is that after conducting the examination twice in a year only those numbers will be considered final, which will be good.
Two languages will have to be studied
Under the changes made by the Ministry of Education, the compulsion to choose the stream for the students of class 11 and class 12 has now been removed. Now the students will be free to choose the subjects of their choice in these classes. Apart from this, the Ministry of Education has also said that students will have to study two languages, at least one language should be Indian in class 11th and 12th. Textbooks will be developed in 2024. In the current situation, according to the curriculum of all the boards, students have to choose any one of the science, commerce, arts, vocational etc.
Union Education Minister said this
During the joint workshop of National Curriculum Framework Review and NSTC Committee, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the steering committee under the guidance of Kasturirangan has prepared the syllabus for the new National Education Policy. He has handed it over to the government. The government has given it to NCERT. Two committees, the National Inspection Committee and the National Curriculum and Textbook Committee (NSTC) have been formed by the NCERT. Both these committees will prepare a syllabus based on the needs of the 21st century and based on the basic Indian thinking.
