Caitlin Clark Hugs Jason Sudeikis After Iowa Beats LSU to Make Final Four

  • Jason Sudeikis celebrated with Caitlin Clark after the Iowa Hawkeyes advanced to the Final Four
  • Clark scored 41 points in the win over the LSU Tigers
  • Sudeikis was seen doing the “you can’t see me” taunt after Clark hit a big shot to extend Iowa’s lead

Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes had the support of Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis when they defeated the LSU Tigers on Monday.

After Iowa’s 94-87 win in the Elite 8 round, 22-year-old Clark greeted Sudeikis, 48, as fans cheered for her in the crowd.

In a video originally shared by Yahoo Sports, the college basketball star is seen exchanging a hug with Sudeikis. The actor looked excited as he seemed to congratulate Clark on the victory and introduced her to fans standing near him.

During the game, Sudeikis was spotted by fans in the crowd cheering Clark on as the Hawkeyes began to stretch their lead over LSU in the fourth quarter.

After Clark hit yet another big shot to extend Iowa’s lead, Sudeikis used a familiar taunt that was caught by broadcast cameras.

The actor was seen holding his hand to his face in the “You can’t see me” motion made famous in the NCAA tournament when LSU star Angel Reese did it to Clark last year — an imitation of Clark, who had pulled the same move earlier in earlier rounds.

After the win, Sudeikis posed with the Hawkeyes in their celebratory team photo. Clark held up four fingers in the shot, referring to her team’s advancement to the Final Four.

Sudeikis, who frequently attends WNBA games and came to another of Clark’s games earlier this season, wore a Togethxr brand sweatshirt that says “Everyone Watches Women’s Sports.”

In a video shared on the Big Ten’s Instagram, the actor showed off the words on the back of his hoodie to further show his support for women’s basketball.

Clark had 41 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists in the victory, leading the Hawkeyes to their second straight Final Four. They will play UConn in the national semifinals Friday night.

After Monday’s win, Clark celebrated her team’s advancement to the Final Four in a post on X.

Speaking to ESPN after the game, Clark said “a lot of people” doubted the Hawkeyes this season.

“A lot of people counted us out at the beginning of the year with the people we lost and all we did was work really hard. To get back here is really hard. This region was loaded with so much talent. The job’s not finished.”

When the tournament concludes, Clark will turn her focus to her next chapter in the WNBA. Last month, she declared for the league’s upcoming draft and is expected to be selected first overall by the Indiana Fever.

The WNBA Draft is on April 15.
