Pakistan women’s team captain: Pakistan women’s team veteran player Bismah Maroof has resigned from the captaincy of the team on Wednesday. This decision was taken by Bismah after a poor performance in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. Pakistan’s performance in the T20 World Cup was very poor. The team had won only one out of 4 matches. In the tournament, Pakistan had to face defeat against India, West Indies and England.
Bismah was captaining the Pakistan team for a long time, but now she has decided to leave her post. Bismah tweeted about this and wrote, “For me there is no greater honor than leading the Pakistan team. Now I think the time has come to make a change and groom a new captain. I will always be there to help, guide and support the team and the young captain in every way.”
Bismah is present for the team as a player
Bismah has left the captaincy of the team, but as a player he is present to play in the team. 31-year-old Bismah is an experienced player of the team. In such a situation, his presence in the team even as a player will greatly benefit Pakistan. Right now nothing has been said about the new captain towards the Pakistan Cricket Board.
There is no greater honor for me than leading a 🇵🇰 team. Now, I feel it is the right time for a change and a chance to groom a young captain. I will always be there to help, guide and support the team and the young captain in every way. Long live Pakistan!
