The Irani Cup match is to be played between Mumbai and Rest of India at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow between 1st to 5th October. Due to participation in this match, the board decided to release all three players from the Indian squad.

BCCI released an update through social media on Monday and said, “Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal have been released from the Indian Test squad to participate in the Irani Cup to be held in Lucknow from tomorrow.”

Wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel and fast bowler Yash Dayal are part of the Rest of India squad in the Irani Cup match. Whereas Sarfaraz Khan is a part of Mumbai.
