BCCI does not accept PCB’s hybrid model for Asia Cup 2023, tussle continues

Asia Cup 2023: The dispute between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding the organization of the Asia Cup 2023 is not taking the name of stopping. BCCI has refused to accept the hybrid model of PCB. BCCI wants that the Asia Cup should be organized at a neutral venue. Although the picture can be clear on whether the Asia Cup will be held by next week or not.

BCCI has started factionalism to strengthen its position. The officials of Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka Cricket Board have been invited by the BCCI to watch the IPL final. During this, discussion on organizing the Asia Cup is possible. According to a PTI report, a day after the IPL final, a meeting is possible between BCCI secretary Jay Shah and officials of the boards of other countries visiting India.

Please tell that Pakistan has the right to host the Asia Cup this year. But BCCI has refused to send Team India to Pakistan due to security reasons. After this, a hybrid model was introduced by the Pakistan Cricket Board, under which an offer was made to organize India’s matches in another country.

Hybrid model is not accepted

On Wednesday, media channels of Pakistan carried the news that BCCI has accepted the hybrid model of PCB. But the reality is that BCCI has not accepted this model. The BCCI wants that the Asia Cup should be held in Sri Lanka.

At the same time, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also linked the Asia Cup controversy with the ODI World Cup to be held in India. The PCB says that if it is stripped of the right to host the Asia Cup, then it can boycott the World Cup to be held in October-November. However, the possibility of this seems less likely.
